CHICAGO – Roosevelt University senior guard Lindzy Cox (Homewood, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 2, the league announced on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Cox averaged a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in two conference victories, adding averages of four assists and 2.5 steals for a strong all-around showing.
The south suburban native shot 55.2 percent (16-for-29) from the floor and 50 percent (3-for-6) from downtown last week.
Cox scored 17 points, pulled down 13 boards, handed out five assists and pilfered three balls away from visiting Calumet St. Joseph to pace the Lakers to an 82-62 home win last Wednesday.
She followed that up with a game-high 23 points to go with seven rebounds during a 10-for-15 effort from the field in a 78-53 road decision at Judson this past Saturday.
Cox currently ranks ninth in scoring among all NAIA Division II players with 18.8 points per game.
Roosevelt hosts Indiana South Bend on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. inside the Goodman Center.
