CHICAGO – Five Lakers scored in double figures, and the Roosevelt women's basketball team scored a no-doubt 82-62 victory over visiting Calumet St. Joseph at the Goodman Center on Wednesday.
JayShari Chears scored a team-leading 20 points to go with five steals, while Lindzy Cox had a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds along with five assists for the Lakers (6-17, 5-10 CCAC).
Ashley Smoldt had 16 points and seven boards, while Erionna Moore's 11 points and MicQuasha Riddle's 10 points and six dimes rounded out the balanced Roosevelt attack.
Alexis Switzer scored a game-high 21 points while Shakeana Clark had a game-high 17 rebounds for the Crimson Wave (3-20, 2-14 CCAC).
Both teams turned the ball over 26 times each, but the Lakers were able to create distance during a 26-point second quarter that saw the hosts shoot 53 percent from the field.
The Lakers led by as many as 30 in the third quarter.
Roosevelt heads to Elgin to face Judson this Saturday afternoon.
