Box Score CHICAGO - Makenzie Cooper paced four Lakers in double-digit kills with a match-high 14 to lead the Roosevelt volleyball team to a 25-10, 25-19, 25-16 sweep of Calumet St. Joseph on Dig Pink Night at the Goodman Center on Thursday.
Cooper added a match-best 12 digs, while Amy Stumpf, Kara Sleeper and Sydney Mishler tacked on 10 kills apiece for Roosevelt (9-16, 4-9 CCAC), as the Lakers won for the third time in four matches.
Roosevelt started strong and never looked back, hitting .333 with 50 kills and just 14 total errors for an efficient night.
Mallory Nickelson handed out 43 assists in another strong night for the junior setter.
Stumpf also had a double-double with 11 digs to join Cooper in that double-dip category.
Calumet St. Joseph (2-20, 0-13 CCAC) was led by Sincere Northern's match-high-tying 14 kills.
The Lakers' Dig Pink Night was in support of breast cancer awareness and research in conjunction with the SideOut Foundation. Both teams wore pink jerseys. Roosevelt's official Dig Pink page can be found here.
