Men's Soccer Shuts Out St. Ambrose, 2-0

Box Score

CHICAGO – Early offense courtesy of Jose Rivera and Luis Arreola complemented the Roosevelt men's soccer team's sixth shutout of the season in a 2-0 result against visiting St. Ambrose at Stuart Field on Wednesday afternoon.

Rivera scored on a ball from Michael Flores a mere 130 seconds into the match, and Arreola netted his fifth goal of the year on aid from Joe Oswin in the 24th minute.

Mario Graciano made three saves before getting late relief from Billy Castro, who made a stop, to keep the team's sheet clean.

Roosevelt (10-4-0, 8-1-0 CCAC) dominated possession, unleashing 23 shots to a mere six from the Bees (4-10-1, 1-7-1 CCAC), and the Lakers created 12 corner kicks in the first half alone.

The Lakers face Trinity Christian on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Palos Heights.
