CHICAGO – Roosevelt University sophomore Brooke Lee (Dodgeville, Wis./Dodgeville H.S.) was named Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Attacking Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 11, the league announced on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Lee had a career game to lead Roosevelt to a five-set win over Robert Morris Illinois last Tuesday, Oct. 6, as she tallied 30 kills to go along with 13 digs for a clutch double-double performance that lifted the Lakers to a 23-25, 25-20, 18-25, 25-20, 23-21 comeback victory on the road.
She shattered her previous best by eight kills, with two coming consecutively at the end of the final set to change course and turn match point for RMU into match point for Roosevelt, and the Lakers took advantage with a game-ending service ace.
This week's award is the first career CCAC Player of the Week honor for Lee.
The sophomore standout leads the Lakers in total kills with 192, averaging a team-best 3.56 kills per set.
Roosevelt takes on Cardinal Stritch in Milwaukee this evening.
