Hannibal, Mo. - The Roosevelt volleyball team lost both of its matches to open play at the Trojan Classic hosted by Hannibal Lagrange University on Friday, falling in straight sets to MidAmerica Nazarene and Avila.
The Lakers (3-24) started the day with a 25-20, 25-21, 25-17 setback to the Pioneers of MidAmerica Nazarene, before suffering a 27-25, 25-13, 25-18 loss to the Eagles of Avila.

Caylee Kuchenbecker led Roosevelt with six and 10 kills, respectively, in Roosevelt's two matches. Freshman
Olivia Downs posted 22 digs versus MidAmerica Nazarene and 15 versus Avila to pace the Lakers. She owns the team lead in digs this season with 303.
The Lakers will be back in action tomorrow as they conclude play in the Trojan Classic by taking on Central Methodist University at 9:00 a.m. and Culver-Stockton College at 1:00 p.m.
