Miranda Southall joined the Roosevelt softball staff in July 2026 as an assistant coach.
The Wilmington, Ill. native arrives in Chicago after working for three years at Rock Valley College where she worked with the pitchers. She helped mentor three NJCAA All-Americans -- Alison Hassett (2024), Natalie Lower (2025) and Peyton Mancl (2026) -- while helping the Eagles earn three trips to the NJCAA Division II World Series.
Before her time at Rock Valley, Southall was a graduate assistant at South Dakota after graduating from Olivet Nazarene. As a player, Southall had a standout career at ONU, where she was a five-year starter, three-time All-CCAC honoree and two-time All-American. She helped the Tigers qualify for three NAIA Tournaments, including leading them to the NAIA World Series in 2021. Â
Southall is no stranger to the coaching profession, either, as the daugher of IHSA Football Hall of Famer Barry Southall, who won two state championships in Illinois (2014 and 2021) and was state runner-up in 2003 while coaching at Wilmington High School. She graduated from Olivet Nazarene with a degree in business administration and has a
Master's Degree in Sport Management from University of South Dakota.
