Roosevelt alum John Lawall was promoted to Executive Director of the Lakers Esports program in August 2024 after serving as assistant director for the 2023-24 season.
Lawall joined the staff after competing with the Lakers team since its inception in 2020 and serving various roles for the program. He will continue to help oversee the program's efforts on social media as well as helping to recruit and manage the various teams under the Lakers Esports umbrella. In addition to his duties with the program, Lawall will also coordinate the weekly Super Smash Bros. Ultimate RUSH events, which attracts a diverse pool of gamers from around the Chicagoland area.
